Dive tower perspective
2000 - 2001 ELS Architecture
A donor to Stanford University had a daughter in high school that was a diver and would be attending the school. The parents did not want their girl to get cold waiting on the platform to perform her dive. Their solution was to donate more money to entice the university to contact ELS who was working on renovating the Avery Aquatics Center. A structural glass windscreen was the approved fix. I was responsible for the project from DD to CD, coordinating with Mero Structures for the glass and the renovation’s structural engineer for the steel.
