2007 - 2008 Baum Thornley Architects
Rehabilitation conforming to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards involving adaptive re-use of a two story stone inn built in 1904 as a private residence. The new use is a retail space featuring wine tasting, art and antiques. Scope of work included removal of all non-historic materials + elements added over time, complete seismic upgrade of structure, new private tasting rooms + showrooms, wine display, custom stair, and new shed structure housing commercial kitchen and accessible restrooms in newly landscaped garden space. I worked directly with the principal, client, structural engineer, interior designer, historical consultant, Planning + Building Departments and led meetings involving the aforementioned. I coordinated all consultants, prepared all drawings, designed all details, specifications + submittals, researched history of building, selected light + plumbing fixtures and performed product research from concept through CD’s.
All interior partitions, plumbing, stairs and 48 sf of the stone wall were permitted to be removed.
All interior partitions, plumbing, ceiling + fenestration were permitted to be removed.
